BY OTHER MEANS
By train or coach to Brockenhurst station
You can travel by rail to Brockenhurst Railway Station using either SouthWest Trains or Virgin. The Southwest train links London Waterloo to Bournemouth and then onto Weymouth. There are two an hour and Brockenhurst is about one and a half hour from Waterloo. The Virgin train starts from Scotland through North West England, the West Midlands and terminates in the South Coast. There are about five trains a day which stop at Brockenhurst using this service. For times and further information ring National Rail Enquiries on 08457 484950. National Express run coaches to Southampton, Bournemouth, Lymington and Brockenhurst.
From the station to the Filly Inn
It’s best to take a taxi from the station to the pub. There is a taxi rank at the entrance the station on the ticket office side. You can take a bus from the main road, but these are infrequent. If you feel energetic you can walk along the A337 heading towards Lymington and stay on the main road, or take the second left towards St Nicholas’ Church and link up with the Royden Wood walk which passes the church. Cyclists can take the same route as the walkers. There are plenty of bike hire places in Brockenhurst, a couple being near the station.
